Commercial Government Municipal Construction

Atlantic Pacific Standard (APS) is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to join our growing construction and service team. We are looking for a skilled, dependable professional with experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining commercial HVAC and mechanical systems.

APS performs commercial, municipal, and federal government construction projects throughout Arizona and the Southwest. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects and service assignments as part of an established, growing contractor.

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC systems and equipment.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control-system issues.

Service rooftop units, split systems, package units, air handlers, heat pumps, exhaust systems, and related HVAC equipment.

Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.

Troubleshoot compressors, motors, contactors, relays, capacitors, thermostats, sensors, and associated controls.

Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection in accordance with applicable regulations.

Read and interpret construction drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

Complete service tickets, inspection reports, equipment documentation, and other required field records accurately.

Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, other trades, subcontractors, and customers.

Maintain company tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles in a professional manner.

Follow OSHA requirements, project-specific safety plans, and APS safety policies.

Maintain professional conduct while working at government facilities, municipal sites, commercial properties, and customer locations.

Qualifications

Minimum 3-5 years of commercial HVAC experience preferred .

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Experience with commercial HVAC installation, service, and preventive maintenance.

EPA Section 608 Universal Certification preferred.

Knowledge of electrical and mechanical HVAC systems and controls.

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.

Ability to work independently and as part of a construction or service team.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Must have reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Ability to meet project-specific background, security, and badging requirements when working on government facilities.

OSHA 10/30, lift certifications, and other construction safety credentials are a plus.
