Job description
Provides direct patient care in the ICU, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, following nursing standards.
Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
Participates in activities that enhance patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development.
Develops and documents individualized care plans with clear goals, collaborating with the healthcare team and patients or caregivers.
Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient preferences, values, and cultural factors.
Works in a safety-sensitive role, maintaining alertness and safety at all times.
Qualifications and Skills:
Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Valid RN license; no prior experience required, but 2+ years of ICU experience is preferred.
Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform critical ICU procedures such as central venous catheters, Swan-Ganz catheters, chest tubes, arterial lines, and intra-aortic balloon pump management.
Respond to Code Blue emergencies, with ICU nurses trained in emergency response protocols.
Contribute to a healing environment through education, safety initiatives, and team collaboration.
