As a Host/Hostess, you will have the opportunity to provide a memorable first impression to our guests by promptly, cheerfully and courteously welcoming them. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain professional functional working relationships with IHOP Team Members and guests.
• Opening the door for guest arriving and departing
• Accommodating any special needs of guests, i.e., boosters, highchairs, disabilities
• Answering the phone
• Managing an online wait list
• Taking, entering and packaging to-go orders, including delivering to vehicle as needed
• Providing guest assistance to servers as needed, serving food and drinks, cleaning tables, etc.
• Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelines.
• Comply with all federal, state and local regulations as well as the IHOP Safety Manual and SOP health, sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Stock and rotate all needed supplies in the service areas and dining room.
• Clear, clean and reset tables and clean chairs, booths and floors after guests leave.
• Perform all cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts
• Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, or acting Supervisor.
Requirements:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a
Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member must spend virtually their entire shift on their feet, with regular prolonged standing, remaining upright within minimal seating; continuous walking navigating tight spaces, dining rooms and high-traffic kitchen corridors and moving quickly and pivoting safely while balancing objects in a high-stress restaurant environment. The Team Member regularly must lift and/or up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, including heavy utilization of trunk rotation.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess good communication skills to accurately interpret kitchen recipes, company training programs, and follow company safety guidelines. The role requires the ability to understand spoken English instructions clearly and collaborate effectively with teammates during fast-paced shifts. Additionally, they must read English proficiently enough to process guest food orders, handle ticket modifications, and maintain seamless team operations under pressure.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
No prior experience required.
