Radiology AdminCenterville | Resource (PRN) | First ShiftKettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 14 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio. We provide an integrated system of healthcare experts committed to providing exceptional care.Preferred QualificationsCompletion of coursework in medical terminology or anatomy and physiology; enrollment in or completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.Experience with patient care, medical office procedures, or imaging equipment.Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of related medical courses.Responsibilities & RequirementsThe Imaging Tech Assistant supports imaging technologists by preparing patients, maintaining equipment and exam rooms, and assisting with imaging procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. This role contributes to patient safety, access, and operational reliability by adhering to regulatory standards and supporting workflow in the imaging department. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent.Required Work ExperienceAt least one year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in radiology or imaging services.Required Licenses, Certifications, and RegistrationsBasic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).SkillsAbility to communicate effectively with patients and staffKnowledge of basic medical terminologyAbility to follow instructions and protocolsBasic computer and data entry skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA standardsAttention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to safely assist with patient transfers and positioningFamiliarity with infection control and safety proceduresEssential FunctionsEscorts and transports patients to and from imaging areas, ensuring patient comfort and safety.Assists patients with positioning and transferring onto examination tables as directed by technologists.Prepares imaging rooms and equipment for procedures, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.Assists technologists during imaging procedures by handling equipment, supplies, and contrast materials under supervision.Conducts preliminary screenings, such as MRI safety checks, to confirm patient readiness for imaging.Verifies physician orders and obtains patient histories as directed.Schedules and coordinates imaging appointments and manages routine clerical tasks.Maintains accurate patient documentation and assists with data entry in electronic health records.Monitors and reports equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to appropriate staff.Adheres to infection control, radiation safety, and organizational policies at all times.Maintains cleanliness and organization of imaging areas, including stocking supplies.Responds appropriately to emergencies and assists with patient care within scope of training.CompetenciesEmployee has basic knowledge of radiation safetyEmployee demonstrates understanding of the usage of equipmentEmployee demonstrates proper patient identificationEmployee demonstrates consistent hand hygiene practices
