Industrial PainterSirius Staffing is seeking to fill a position in Axis, AL, for an experienced Industrial Painter. This is a long-term contract that has the potential to go direct. The Painter will be working the day shift for a large manufacturing facility. Summary: The Industrial Painter’s responsibilities and duties include safely preparing the surface to bind to the paint, mixing the paint, and applying paint in the desired color and amount per specifications to ensure a high-quality finish and appearance as directed by the Lead Industrial Painter and per company standards.Essential Functions:Clean and prepare surfaces before painting.Strip, sand, mask, and repaint surfaces, blend, and polish finish to match surrounding areas manually or using portable power tools.Proficient in various painting tools, including thin and thick brushes, airbrushes, and rollers. (paint sprayers)Mix chemicals and paints, fill tanks, and control viscosity, thinner, and chemicals to mixture as the Lead Industrial Painter instructs. (industrial coatings, epoxy)Identify different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.Set up and operate painting equipment to coat metal products with lacquer, paint, varnish, enamel, oil, or rust-proofing material.Paint components per specifications, drawings, or work orders, ensuring high safety standards are met.Utilize special safety equipment such as painting goggles. May use a full-face ventilation mask for extended periods. (as well as a fresh air respirator)Lifting and moving devices may be operated to move materials and equipment and access areas to be painted. (Equipment such as forklifts, small and large)Able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Safe disposal of chemicals and other types of waste per company policy.Skills & Qualifications:Performs all duties and possesses the skills and abilities of an Industrial Painter.Participates in troubleshooting jobs and equipment issues.Proficient in the ability to read standard blueprints.Able to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.Strong industrial safe work practices.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Practical math skills.Must be prompt, dependable, and have a good attendance record.Must participate in the Safety monthly blood draw program.Must be able to participate in the respiratory program, including but not limited to being clean-shaven and able to wear a respirator when safety needs dictate.Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Minimum 1-year experience in industrial or commercial painting preferred or a combination of education and applicable experience.Forklift or man lift experience preferredAIDT or Technical training is preferredPhysical Demands:This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day or at various times.The employee must frequently safely lift and move items over 70 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to dust and/or fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, loud noises, and/or vibrations. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions at the manufacturing site. This position may occasionally require work in various and/or extreme weather conditions.
