Industrial Painter
Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a local steel fabrication partner
Location: Waco, TX
Pay: $18-$24/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-time | Day shift | Overtime as needed
Position Type: Evaluation Hire (Temp-to-Perm)
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to prepare and paint structural steel components with precision and quality. The ideal candidate has experience with industrial coatings, surface preparation, and fine finish work.
This role offers an opportunity for growth into a leadership position overseeing the painting department .
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation & Coating
Prepare structural steel surfaces by cleaning, blasting, sanding, and masking
Apply primers, industrial coatings, and finishes according to specifications
Ensure coatings meet durability and quality standards
Painting & Finishing
Operate spray equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently
Perform high-quality, fine-finish painting requiring attention to detail
Apply automotive-style finishing techniques when needed
Paint doors, windows, and detailed components requiring clean finishes
Inspection & Quality Control
Inspect finished surfaces to ensure smooth, even coatings
Correct imperfections and ensure professional-quality results
Safety & Equipment Use
Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements
Maintain and clean spray equipment and tools
Work from ladders or elevated surfaces as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Industrial painting or automotive painting experience required
Knowledge of industrial coatings and surface preparation methods
Ability to produce smooth, high-quality finishes
Experience with spray equipment and painting tools
Ability to work from ladders and elevated surfaces
Ability to lift and move materials as needed
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
Preferred Experience
Structural steel or metal fabrication painting
Automotive paint finishing techniques
Experience painting doors, windows, or high-detail components
Leadership or supervisory experience
