Job description
Saw OperatorThe Saw Operator is responsible for safely and accurately operating industrial saw equipment to cut raw materials to specified dimensions according to work orders, blueprints, and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate saw equipment (band saws, circular saws, cold saws, or similar machinery) to cut metal, wood, or other materials to required specificationsRead and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurements to ensure accurate cutsMeasure, mark, and inspect materials before and after cutting to verify quality and dimensional accuracyAdjust machine settings such as speed, blade type, and cutting angles based on material type and job requirementsMaintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S and housekeeping standardsPerform routine machine maintenance, blade changes, and basic troubleshootingIdentify and report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or material defects to supervisorsFollow all company safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirementsWork closely with production team members to meet daily output and quality goalsRequirementsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience operating industrial saws or similar production machinery preferredAbility to read a tape measure and basic blueprints accuratelyStrong attention to detail and qualityBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift and move materials up to 50 lbsFrequent bending, reaching, and handling of materialsAbility to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, vibration, and varying temperaturesWork EnvironmentManufacturing/production floorExposure to moving mechanical equipmentRequired use of personal protective equipment (PPE)ScheduleFull-timeOvertime as required to meet production demands
