Job description
Briarfield Health Care Centers is seeking a
nInfection Preventionist (IP)Nurse
nto join our team at Briarfield Place!
nnThe IP nurse is responsible for organizing, developing and directing infection prevention within our facility in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern our facility to ensure that the highest degree of infection prevention and quality care is maintained at all times.
nThe IP is responsible for the effective direction, management, and operation of the infection prevention program, including the education of facility staff members and independent practitioners, and consults with local and state health departments. The IP is responsible for the facility's activities aimed at preventing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), tracking lab results and ATB stewardship. This position also oversees quality assurance within the facility and works with all departments to ensure exceptional care is provided to each patient during their stay.
nnThe IP:
nnCompletes community wide audits
nTracks vaccinations
nTracks and trends infections, puts interventions into place
nCompletes rounds with our Medical Director
nFollows up on labs and new orders
nCompletes admissions
nAssists in scheduling resident appointments and transportation
nParticipates in the on-call rotation
n nnRequired Education and Experience:
nMust be an Ohio Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
nTwo or more years experience in previous QA or infection control position
nExperience opening a skilled community a plus, but not required!
nInfection Control credentialing preferred or must be willing to obtain
