Job description
Infectious Disease Scientist
Immediate need for a talented Infectious Disease Scientist. This is a 12+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in West Point, PA (Onsite).
Key Responsibilities:
We are seeking a contractor to join the Infectious Disease and Vaccines department in the vaccines group.
The overarching goal of the group is to test pre-clinical vaccine candidates in animal models to help advance our viral vaccine programs.
The contractor will be responsible for running ELISAs, viral plaque reduction assays, serum neutralization assays, generating viral stocks, managing internal, external shipments, sample inventory and overall laboratory support.
Note: This is 100% lab based onsite role.
Candidate should be fine with Blood borne pathogens titer screening after the assignment has started.
Client will be performing the titer test.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
Key skills; viral propagation, viral titering/plaque assays, and serum neutralization/plaque reduction assays, hands-on ELISA and cell/tissue culture experience, and worked with infectious viruses in BSL-2/BSL-3 labs.
Minimum degree: BS/BA 6 years; MS-4 years in a biological science related major.
Maximum degree: PHD with at least 1 year of hands on expertise with required skill set is must.
Years of experience required for the role: At least 3 years performing laboratory research outside of degree.
Required skills include Virological assay support, tissue/cell culture and ELISAs.
GraphPad Prism, Electronic lab notebook.
Detail oriented
Great work ethic
Excellent communication skills.
Critical thinking: able to evaluate results and troubleshoot issues.
