About the Role
Our client is looking for a technically adept Information Security Engineer to bolster their security infrastructure in Welkom . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and maintenance of security solutions to protect the organization's systems and data from cyber threats. You will work on deploying and managing security tools, developing security protocols, and responding to security incidents. This position is ideal for an engineer passionate about cybersecurity, seeking to apply their technical skills in a challenging environment to enhance the overall security resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and endpoint security solutions.
Configure and maintain security systems to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness against emerging threats.
Develop and implement security automation scripts and tools to improve efficiency in security operations.
Respond to security alerts, conduct forensic analysis of security incidents, and provide technical recommendations for remediation.
Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure security best practices are embedded in system design and deployment.
Stay current with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and technologies.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years of hands-on experience as a security engineer or in a similar technical security role.
Proficiency in configuring and managing network security devices and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for security automation.
Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and cybersecurity best practices.
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or equivalent are advantageous.
