About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Information Security Manager to lead their security initiatives in Welkom . This leadership role involves developing and executing a comprehensive information security strategy, managing a team of security professionals, and ensuring the protection of the organization's assets. You will be responsible for risk management, incident response, compliance, and fostering a strong security-aware culture. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of the threat landscape and security best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and manage the overall information security program , aligning with business objectives.
Lead and mentor the information security team, providing direction and performance management.
Oversee the risk assessment process, identifying and prioritizing security vulnerabilities and threats.
Manage the incident response process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for all employees.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information security , with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
Proven experience in developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and governance frameworks.
Strong understanding of various security domains including network security, application security, cloud security, and data protection .
Experience with risk management methodologies and security audit processes.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
