Job description
The Information Systems Director oversees the Information Systems Division for the Department of Local Government Finance, developing digital operations strategy and leading teams to ensure functionality of all DLGF software applications. The role involves managing a significant technology modernization effort, including evaluating legacy systems, integrating updated technologies, and coordinating cross-departmental stakeholders. The Director represents DLGF interests in the Indiana Gateway web portal and manages project timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation while guiding staff through process changes and technology adoption.
Key qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of information technology, information security, project management, and business management
Ability to bridge technology and business goals to provide productive solutions
5+ years of experience in Computer Science or Information Technology in a similar role
Ability to negotiate complex agreements with agencies, divisions, and outside vendors
Effective communication skills and ability to frame technical issues based on policy implications
Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, manage workflow, and develop employee skillsets
