Job description
Inside Plant TechnicianServes on the communications team of the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) as an Inside Plant Technician (ISP) on the Defense Switched Network (DSN), Voice over IP (VoIP), and legacy Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) telecommunications systems.Integrates, configures, and optimizes VoIP/voice/data network systems, including IP telephony, PBX platforms, call manager systems, and associated hardware/software.Performs installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of digital/analog switching systems, circuit equipment, cable distribution systems, and customer connectivity.Monitors system performance, analyze logs and diagnostic data, identify service issues, and implement corrective actions to restore or improve telecommunications services.Plans and executes upgrades, configuration changes, and technology roadmap efforts; develop procedures and recommendations to enhance voice and network infrastructure.Coordinates with customers, NEC operations, vendors, and emergency personnel to resolve complex telecommunications issues and ensure reliable delivery service.
