IT Support Specialist
Location: Danville, KY
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire Opportunity
Pay Rate: $30 - $37/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Overview
We are seeking an onsite IT Support Specialist to provide advanced technical support within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as a key escalation point for complex hardware, software, network, and endpoint issues.
The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting expertise, experience supporting both office and production-floor technologies, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service while driving technical solutions to resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Act as IT Support for complex technical incidents and service requests that require advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Support and maintain end-user computing devices, including laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals, and mobile devices.
Provide technical support for manufacturing and shop-floor technologies, including PCs, handheld scanners, label printers, and production-critical systems.
Lead the diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, operating system, and application issues across Windows-based environments.
Support executive presentations, critical meetings, and business operations requiring high-priority IT assistance.
Install, configure, deploy, and maintain hardware, software, and enterprise-standard technologies.
Ensure compliance with corporate IT standards, security policies, and operational procedures.
Document incidents, troubleshooting activities, root cause findings, and resolutions within the ITSM/ticketing platform.
Collaborate with infrastructure, network, engineering, and application support teams to drive timely issue resolution.
Identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements, knowledge articles, and long-term technical solutions.
Provide feedback to project teams regarding user experience, technology adoption, and system enhancements.
Assist with technology rollouts, upgrades, migrations, and site-based IT initiatives.
Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on IT support experience with increasing levels of technical responsibility.
Proven experience in a Tier 2/Tier 3 desktop support or endpoint support environment.
Strong troubleshooting experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
Experience supporting Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
Experience supporting hardware deployments, imaging, software installations, and peripheral devices.
Knowledge of handheld devices, scanners, and mobile computing technologies.
Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Have
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience supporting engineering and design applications such as AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, or other CAD-based software .
Experience working in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
Familiarity with ITIL processes and IT service management best practices.
