Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Platform Engineer to join our enterprise technology team. This role is responsible for operational support of complex infrastructure platforms and services, and requires proficiency across application, compute, network, and cloud-relevant technologies.

You will play a critical role - supporting reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions, while partnering with architecture, engineering, and business teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and operational excellence.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

Principal operational support resource for complex infrastructure solutions across hybrid environments

Perform advanced analysis, performance tuning, and root cause troubleshooting

Ensure adherence to change, incident, and problem management processes

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including standards, procedures, and architecture diagrams

Drive improvements in automation, monitoring, and observability

Support enterprise patching and vulnerability management efforts

Collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and business stakeholders to improve operational readiness and service reliability

Contribute to governance and support models across private, public, and hybrid cloud platforms

Mentor team members and provide technical leadership across initiatives

What we’re looking for:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience:

7 years of relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Other Must Haves:

Strong experience with Web and Application Server platforms

Hands-on expertise in JVM administration, monitoring, and performance tuning

Experience with message queuing technologies (e.g., IBM MQ or equivalent)

Knowledge of PKI and machine identity management

Experience with container platforms (OpenShift, EKS, ROSA)

Understanding of server load balancing (SLB) concepts and administration

Familiarity with infrastructure automation and scripting strategies

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in hybrid cloud environments

Exposure to enterprise-scale monitoring and operational support models

Proficiency with observability tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk

Compensation

$98,993.00 - $128,688.00

Physical Demands

The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S – Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Responsible for the operational support, security, and lifecycle management of network infrastructure supporting Cook Nuclear operations. This role focuses on incident response, task execution, vulnerability remediation, and infrastructure refresh activities, ensuring compliance with NERC CIP standards and regulatory requirements.

Part of a larger team delivering high quality technology solutions to the business. Design, develop and install software solutions. Build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software in compliance with internal architecture, development & design standards & best practices. Design, modify, develop, write, implement and troubleshoot software programming applications. Support and/or install software applications. Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software. Works within a Waterfall or Agile methodology/framework based team. Collaborates heavily with Project Management, Business Analyst and Infrastructure Job Families.

Responsible for the strategic direction of a technology domain, services, or process within a broader strategy of a Business Unit (BU) customer or technology functional area. Promotes and appliesTechnology processes and solutions to meet the needs and align with the strategies of that BUcustomer or technology functional area. Responsible for directly managing and developing technology staff, building and sustaining collaborative relationships with operating companies, BUs, and technology teams. Lead a software application development team to complete projects and/or services and perform all technology work activities via efficient processes and effective use of resources.Responsibilities include decision making, risk assessment, task prioritization/assignment/tracking, project assignment, employee development, performance feedback, motivation, team building, communication, planning, resource allocation, cost control, problem/issue/conflict resolution, customer service, and client relations.Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans; receives guidance and oversight from senior manager.*Please note: We're looking for an individual with experience leading software development teams.
