nLOCATION IS PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA

nPrimary Responsibilities:

nnnDispense unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, IV, enteral and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures

n

nnCompound medications using appropriate components, supplies, and sterile/ventilated environment

n

nnProcess, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies, and patient collateral (education materials) are included

n

nnPerform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment, fill dispensing units

n

nnReview medication orders and evaluates appropriateness and completeness of orders with consideration given to the special needs and behaviors of the specific age group served

n

nnVerify all prescriptions not directly received from the prescriber or physician's agent

n

nnProvides oversight of the safety, appropriateness, and effectiveness of the pharmaceutical care provided to patients (consumers) as it relates to specialty products dispensed

n

nnAssess the patient at the initiation of drug therapy, develop a patient care plan and drug monitoring regimen, and monitor the patient according to the care plan throughout the course of therapy

n

nnCommunicate with the patient, physician, nursing staff, other pharmacists, and other members of the health care team regarding patient status, response to therapy, and clinical objectives to ensure clinical outcomes are met

n

nnWhen required, compound intravenous and specialty pharmaceuticals in an aseptic fashion according to established State Board of Pharmacy, Federal, USP797 sterile guidelines and company policy

n

nnKnowledgeable of the proper use and handling of both sterile and hazardous medications; Compounds and handles sterile and hazardous medications in accordance with established guidelines and regulations

n

nnEnsure compliance with all FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA, and other regulatory standards; Follows all department policies and procedures

n

nnProvide indirect oversight of pharmacy technician and pharmacy support staff

n

nnPharmacists monitor and verify all prescription orders upon creation and dispensing. Calibrate dosing pumps as applicable

n

nnInterpret provider prescription and create order, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer system, verifies whether order/drug is reimbursable/covered

n

nnContact members/patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, consult on medication issues, and set up treatment in on-site facilities

n

nnPrep and scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in computer system

n

nRequired Qualifications:

nnnBS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree

n

nnCurrent, unrestricted Pharmacist license in Pennsylvania

n

nnSolid drug product and clinical pharmacy knowledge

n

nnKnowledgeable in various infusion related therapies with ability to work through the complexity of therapy related orders

n

nnProficient with Microsoft Office

n

nnProven ability to fill medication orders accurately and in a timely manner

n

nnAbility to work 9-5:30 Monday - Friday

n

nnPermanent residence within a commutable distance to Plymouth Meeting, PA

n

n nPreferred Qualifications:

nnnNutritionally Certified

n

nnMultiple state licenses or ability and willingness to obtain additional state licenses

n

nnPharmacist with Home Care or Home Infusion experience

n

nnCompound experience

n

nnCPR Plus and Care Link Cloud experience

n

nnSterile compounding experience

n

nnCPR+ software experience

n

n nPhysical Requirements

nnSitting, standing, walking in an office / pharmacy operation environment

n nPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44 - $79 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
