Job description

Plastic Injection Molding Set-Up TechnicianCadrex is searching for a Plastic Injection Molding Set-Up Technician. Setup Technicians have the responsibility of getting injection molding machines set up and ready for production. This includes but is not limited to pulling and setting molds, cycling the machine into a pre-established process, turning in start-up parts, troubleshooting machine alarms, and performing basic mold and machine maintenance. These duties will require the use of overhead cranes, forklifts and basic hand tools.Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot visual and dimensional defectsTrain lower-level technicians to help them gain knowledge to help develop their careersTroubleshoot automation issues and program new automationAssist on special projectsActs as a leader on the floor working with the Leads, Quality, Process Engineering and operators to ensure the proper priorities are being worked onCollaborate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance hardware performance, reliability, repeatability, and efficiencyAdhere to company policies, procedures, and quality standards in all set-up and maintenance activitiesMaintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and inventory control of hardware components and toolsFollow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environmentOther duties may be assignedPreferred Qualifications5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Injection molding experience or mechanical aptitude, tools and toolboxMust demonstrate a high aptitude and ability for supervisionDetail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracyStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-function teamsAbility to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentEducationHigh School Diploma or GEDTechnical certifications or vocational training in injection molding is preferredLocationOnsiteScheduleFriday-SundayTotal Compensation IncludesHealth/dental/vision coverageEmployer-paid and supplemental life insuranceShort- and long-term disability insuranceGenerous paid time off and holiday payMonthly remote work stipend (for remote employees who qualify)401(k) investment plan, with an employer match of up to 4%Education support programSafety eyeglasses/shoe reimbursementReferral bonusesBonus plan for all full-time employeesPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock.
