Job description
Injection Molding OperatorThe Injection Molding Operator is responsible for operating injection molding equipment to produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. This position monitors machine performance, performs quality inspections, loads materials, completes production documentation, and supports continuous improvement efforts within the manufacturing operation.Premier PV is a leading manufacturer of solar electrical balance of systems solutions and renewable energy products dedicated to advancing sustainable energy technologies. Our mission is to provide innovative, efficient, and reliable products that enhance solar energy systems.Essential Responsibilities:Production OperationsOperate injection molding machines according to established work instructions and production schedules.Load raw materials and components into equipment as required.Remove finished parts and perform visual inspections for defects.Package, label, and move finished products according to specifications.Maintain required production rates while following quality and safety standards.Monitor machine operation and notify supervisors of any abnormalities or equipment issues.Quality AssurancePerform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.Identify defects such as flash, short shots, discoloration, voids, or dimensional issues.Follow quality procedures and document inspection results.Segregate nonconforming product and notify the appropriate personnel.Equipment and Workplace MaintenanceMaintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles.Perform routine cleaning of equipment and workstations.Assist with material changes, mold changes, and machine startup activities as directed.Support preventive maintenance activities when required.SafetyFollow all company safety policies and procedures.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near-misses immediately.Team SupportWork cooperatively with supervisors, quality personnel, maintenance technicians, and fellow operators.Assist in training new operators as assigned.Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.Qualifications:RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.Ability to read and follow work instructions.Basic math and measurement skills.Strong attention to detail and quality.Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.PreferredExperience operating injection molding equipment.Experience with plastics manufacturing.Familiarity with quality inspection tools and techniques.Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and machine noise.Working ConditionsManufacturing production environment.Exposure to moving machinery, plastics materials, and industrial equipment.Overtime and shift work may be required to meet production demands.Benefits and PayPaid Company HolidaysPaid Time OffWe provide paid sick leave as required by Colorado's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, Short Term/Long Term Disability, 401K with matching contribution.Competitive compensation on experience, qualifications, and competencies.
