Inpatient Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Travel Job in Topeka, Kansas

Job Details
Job Title: Inpatient Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Travel Assignment
Setting: Inpatient rehab and acute care
Location: Topeka, KS 66606
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 10/14/2026
Schedule: Day shifts, 4x10-hour schedule
Shift Duration: 10 hours
Hours per Week: 40
Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,050
Charting System: Epic
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
Caseload: Approximately 10-14 patients between acute and rehab
Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 week
Job Requirements Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathologist experience required
Current Kansas SLP license in hand
BLS certification required
Experience with acute care and inpatient rehabilitation preferred
Experience treating dysphagia, cognitive deficits, and language deficits
Ability to complete evaluations and treatments for rehab patients
Strong documentation skills with Epic or similar EMR experience

Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients with swallowing, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders
Provide speech therapy for patients with stroke, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological conditions
Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and progress
Complete bedside swallow evaluations and other clinically appropriate assessments
Deliver effective 45-minute treatment sessions in rehab and acute care settings
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe discharge planning and patient goals
Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
Help patients improve communication, swallowing safety, and functional independence
