Job description

Welder – Field InstallationCSI is currently recruiting for an experienced Welder to join our Installation Services team. In this role, you will work as part of a team installing sanitary process systems at customer locations throughout the country. This is a hands-on position requiring strong TIG welding skills, attention to detail, mechanical ability, and a commitment to safety and customer service.Our installation teams are the face of CSI to our customers. Successful team members take pride in their work, represent CSI professionally, and work safely and effectively in a variety of customer environments.What You'll Be DoingPerform TIG welding of sanitary stainless-steel tubing and process piping to meet customer and CSI quality requirementsPerform grinding, polishing, and finishing of welded componentsAssist with pipe fitting and installation activities as neededAccurately read and interpret tape measurements, scales, blueprints, drawings, and schematicsOperate forklifts, scissor lifts, torches, saws, drill motors, plasma torches, Fischer saws, and other equipmentFollow established safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipmentWork effectively as part of a field installation team while maintaining a professional presence at customer facilitiesTravel to customer locations and work overnight and/or weekend assignments as requiredMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentTake ownership of assigned work and complete installations according to specifications, quality standards, and customer expectationsWho This Is ForExperienced welder with strong TIG welding skillsMechanically inclined with the ability to understand and apply welding and pipe-fitting techniquesDetail-oriented and committed to producing quality workTakes pride in workmanship and accepts responsibility for work performedSafety-conscious and committed to following established safety practicesComfortable working in active field environments and at customer facilitiesAble to work effectively as part of a teamWilling and able to travel extensively as requiredRequired SkillsStrong attention to detail is necessary to complete work as requiredGood understanding of welding techniques and the ability to apply those techniques to produce quality work for the customerAbility to accurately read and interpret measurements, blueprints, drawings, and schematicsPride of ownership and accepting responsibility for work performed are key personal characteristicsAbility to safely operate required tools and equipmentCommitment to safety and professional customer serviceRequired ExperienceTIG welding experience — required2–3 years of sanitary tube welding experience — requiredPipe-fitting experience — requiredExperience operating basic construction equipment — requiredForklift and scissor lift experienceExperience operating drill motors, plasma torches, Fischer saws, and related equipmentExperience working at customer facilities — preferredTravel RequirementsOvernight and/or weekend travel is necessary and may, at times, be as much as 100%. Travel may be by air or company vehicle. A valid Class E driver's license, or the ability to obtain one, is required.CSI provides required tools, travel, hotel accommodations, meals, and other miscellaneous travel expenses associated with the position.Work Environment / Physical RequirementsField installation positions are very active and require frequent and/or continuous standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 75 pounds with assistance. Visual acuity is required to perform work using close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee may be exposed to environmental factors typical of welding and field installation. Working outside or in non-climate-controlled environments may be required.
