We are proud to have become a shining example of what's possible when the brightest professionals dedicate themselves to making a difference in the healthcare industry, and in people's lives.Work Shift: Evenings 2p-10:30p Mon-Fri**Previous Loaner Coordinator experience strongly preferredJob Summary:Reporting to local supervisor or manager of the sterile processing department, position provides departmental oversight of instrument procurement, repair, replacement, and refurbishment. Supports procedural areas service line coordinators with making modifications to instrument sets, adding, removing, implementing, and exempting, as necessary. Modifies count sheets in SPM as needed. Functions as liaison between purchasing and sterile processing department, assists with invoice reconciliation and outstanding receivables when needed. Facilitates repair of flexible and rigid scopes with appropriate vendor, obtains loaners when needed. Maintains detailed records of purchases and other tasks, following up and communicating regularly. Position functions to ensure instruments required for surgical procedures are in working order. Serves as integral part of sterile processing leadership team to provide high levels of customer service to providers, clinicians, and staff.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Key Role/Responsibility: Maintains count sheets in SPM instrument management database.Key Role/Responsibility: Generates SPM reports on a regular basis and ad-hoc.Key Role/Responsibility: Adheres to established par levels for peg board and other stock items.Key Role/Responsibility: Monitors outstanding receivables and open orders, following up with purchasing.Key Role/Responsibility: Assists with capital planning by obtaining quotes from various vendors.Key Role/Responsibility: Establishes tracking system for monitoring outstanding orders, follows up with purchasing/vendor.Key Role/Responsibility: Obtains price quotes and enters requisitions for instrument and specialty purchases.Key Role/Responsibility: Functions as resource for clinical service line coordinators with ordering specialty instruments.Key Role/Responsibility: Facilitates repair or refurbishment of various surgical instruments and equipment.Key Role/Responsibility: Performs basic clerical and administrative functions on unit. (PC, multi-line phone, fax, copiers)Key Role/Responsibility: Places work orders with biomed, facilities management, environmental services as needed.Key Role/Responsibility: Functions as department point of contact for vendors.Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma / GED General or Accredited Program Other / Related Field-PreferredCRCST - Cert Reg Central Service Tech or CSPDT - Cert Sterile Proc & Dist TechBLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - InstructorAdditional License(s) and Certification(s): Certification in sterile processing Upon Hire RequiredRequired Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years in an inpatient sterile processing technician role required**Previous Loaner Coordinator experience strongly preferred.Required Minimum Skills: Ability to effectively operate various computer applications (Basic Outlook and MS Office Suite) required. Ability to communicate with technicians, clinicians, and providers in a procedural setting required. High level of organization, ability to follow through required. Ability to identify and research complex surgical instruments required.
