As an equal-opportunity workplace and affirmative-action employer, we celebrate and support a diverse workplace for the benefit of all: our employees, customers and communities.ResponsibilitiesThe major responsibility for an Insurance Claims Representative is assisting the department with manners regarding the company's credit insurance programs and claims.Essential ResponsibilitiesProcess Life and Disability Insurance claimsProcess Life and Disability Insurance proceeds received from an internal or external insurance carrierPerform next day verification of Life and Disability payments to ensure they were keyed to the customer's account correctlyProcess Total Loss claimsVerify GAP coverage after a Total Loss and file the GAP claim. Process GAP refunds/issue checksProcess Total Loss proceeds issued by auto insurance companies Process collision/repair checks issued by auto insurance companiesPerform next day verification of Total Loss and/or collision repair payments to ensure they were keyed to the customer's account correctlyProcess cancellations on Total Losses for back-end products (i.e. Dealer Warranties)Prepare and send Customer Balance LettersCoordinate and process loan payoff requestsProcess the necessary lien and/or title releasesHandle account researches, credit disputes, and/or assist with customer complaints. Cut and issue checks to applicable partiesCorrespond to and provide necessary documentation to third party companies including customers, physician offices, auto insurance companies, GAP insurance carriers, and dealership representatives to ensure all available monies or refunds are requested and paid in a timely mannerAdd and remove insurance codes on accounts accordingly to reflect the current account/claim statusPerform next day verification of the addition or removal of insurance codesAssist with collection efforts on delinquent accounts with pending/active insurance claims Effectively communicate and cooperate with other Bank departments and personnel regarding accounts with insurance claimsThoroughly document accounts detailing the action taken, information needed, and/or next steps Perform daily and monthly balancing and reconciliation of general ledger accountsContinuously cross train on other functions as needed or requested Assist the Direct Lending Manager with tasks, reports, or projects Assist the Direct Operations Supervisor with tasks, reports, or project.Perform multiple queue verifications within the Consumer Loan platform to ensure all loans with open/active insurance claims are worked in a timely and regulatory mannerAssist with updating procedures as neededAssist with and absorb additional insurance claim related functions resulting from a merger/acquisitionProvide quality service to coworkers, customers, third party vendors, insurance companies, etc.Other duties as assigned or directedMaintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely mannerAncillary DutiesAs an integral member of the Indirect/Direct Consumer Loan Departments, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.QualificationsEducation, Training and Requirements:High School Diploma or GED requiredAssociates Degree in related field of study or two (2) years' experience in a related field preferredValid driver's licenseAll applicants must be 18 years of age or olderSkills:Keen attention to detailProficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics skillsProficient and professional interpersonal relations and communicative skillsAdaptableFlexible and understanding of changePositive attitude with a level-headed approachCreative thinkerCollaborative team playerDedicated work ethic and ability to manage responsibilities wellAbility to work with high volumes at a fast pace while maintaining qualityAble to maintain focus within an open floor plan office setting consisting of simultaneous professional conversationsExperience:Minimum of two (2) years of experience in related field strongly preferredOther Job InformationHours: 40 hours/weekCompensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
