Job description
Pay: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year

Location
Chicago, Illinois. This is a flexible hybrid opportunity combining in-office collaboration with remote work.
Note
Candidates must have an active Illinois Bar license and 1+ year of insurance coverage experience. Experience with first-party property coverage, policy analysis, coverage opinions, or related coverage litigation is especially valuable.

Job Description
Analyze insurance policies and complex first-party property coverage issues
Prepare coverage opinions and provide strategic advice to insurance clients
Handle insurance coverage matters from pre-suit analysis through litigation and resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents
Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation proceedings
Assist with examinations under oath and claim investigations as appropriate
Conduct legal research involving insurance coverage and related litigation issues
Develop case strategy and communicate recommendations clearly to clients
Manage multiple active matters, deadlines, and urgent client requests
Collaborate with experienced coverage attorneys on sophisticated property insurance disputes
Qualifications
1+ year of insurance coverage experience
JD from an accredited law school
Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
Experience with insurance policy analysis and coverage issues
First-party property insurance experience preferred
Coverage opinion, pleading, motion, deposition, or mediation experience preferred
Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple matters
Collaborative, team-first approach
