Are you an experienced insurance professional who enjoys helping clients but also has an interest in writing new business?
We are looking for an Insurance Customer Service Representative / Producer to join our independent insurance agency. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships with clients, managing their day-to-day insurance needs, and identifying opportunities to provide additional coverage.
As an independent agency, we represent multiple insurance companies, allowing us to offer our clients a variety of coverage and pricing options. You will have the opportunity to work with both personal and commercial insurance clients and develop long-term relationships.
The Position
The primary focus of this position will be customer service and account management , including assisting clients with policy changes, renewals, certificates, billing questions, claims, and coverage questions.
We are also looking for someone who is comfortable with the sales side of insurance and can identify opportunities to quote and write new business. You do not need to be a high-pressure salesperson. We are looking for someone who can build trust with clients, understand their insurance needs, and recommend appropriate coverage.
Responsibilities
Provide exceptional day-to-day customer service to personal and commercial insurance clients
Handle policy changes, endorsements, certificates, billing questions, and coverage questions
Process applications, policy changes, renewals, and cancellations
Quote and write new personal and commercial insurance business
Develop new business through existing client relationships, referrals, networking, and other opportunities
Communicate with multiple insurance carriers regarding underwriting and policy issues
Qualifications
Illinois Property & Casualty Insurance License required or preferred
Experience with personal lines and/or commercial insurance
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability and willingness to quote and write new business
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Professional, friendly, and confident when communicating with clients
Experience with an agency management system and insurance company rating systems preferred
