This is a hybrid role open to candidates located in Jersey City, NJ and the surrounding North Jersey area.
Our client is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney for its North Jersey team.
Location: Hybrid Schedule: 2 -3 days a week in the Jersey City office initially.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a caseload of insurance defense matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, briefs, reports, and other litigation documents
Conduct and defend depositions, handle motion practice and court appearances
Participate in arbitration and mediations, prepare matters for trial
Handle automobile liability matters under New Jersey law
Maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers, claims professionals, and corporate clients
Conduct legal research, draft persuasive motions/briefs/memoranda
Requirements
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
3 - 8 years of insurance litigation matters
Experience handling litigation, depositions, and motion
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Experience in NJ auto liability defense
Experience representing insurance carriers or self-insured clients
Experience in courtroom for trial, arbitration, or mediation
Experience with premise liability
Existing relationship with insurance carriers or claims professionals
