This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment that puts patient care first while also having the opportunity to grown, learn, and advance in your career. This is a 7pm - 7am, 36 hour per week position.
Arbour Hospital is an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that address individualized behavioral health needs. At Arbour Hospital, we work diligently and compassionately to provide patients and their families with high-quality care and service excellence across a continuum of specialized behavioral health services. We have proudly served the residents of the greater Boston area since 1909. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment.
Responsibilities
Coordinate all admissions processes and serve as liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, and hospital personnel involved with each admission
Process inquiry and referral calls and respond to request for hospital and program information, assessment, and possible admission
Verify insurance, triage patients, enter calls and admissions in computer and complete all admission paperwork with patient
Effectively communicate with patients, physicians, staff, and referral sources

Qualifications
Requirements
Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) in state of Massachusetts
Education : Graduate of accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor Degree preferred
Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field.
Other: Excellent communication skills, i.e., verbal and written. Ability to prioritize; work well under periods of high stress and pressure. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Demonstrates an understanding of funding entities. Thorough knowledge of psychiatric services provided by the hospital. Ability to work flexible hours. Requires a basic understanding of computers; and accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of insurance contracts and payors. Knowledge of precertification for inpatient hospitalization. Experience gathering and documenting medical and clinical information to assess and staff appropriately with physician. Ability to triage for medical and psychiatric needs. Excellent customer service skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families and referral sources.
