Job description
Our client, a leading investment management firm, is seeking a Senior Real Estate Integration and Reporting Consultant to join a specialized team focused on assessing and optimizing technology capabilities across multiple real estate business units. This role will play a critical part in evaluating applications, data architectures, integrations, and reporting systems following recent acquisitions and organic growth. The successful candidate will document the current technology landscape, identify consolidation opportunities, define integration requirements, and deliver SQL-based solutions while supporting broader Real Estate Technology initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Participate in comprehensive discovery sessions to document application ecosystems, data flows, integration patterns, and reporting capabilities across acquired and existing real estate business operations
Identify and map source and target systems, data feeds, interfaces, reports, system owners, end users, manual workarounds, and undocumented technical dependencies
Translate business needs into actionable artifacts including functional requirements, technical specifications, source-to-target mappings, feed specifications, report specifications, and detailed acceptance criteria
Develop, enhance, and maintain SQL extracts, data transformations, reconciliation queries, data-quality validation scripts, system interfaces, and operational reports
Evaluate existing enterprise technology capabilities and document tactical solutions with clearly defined transition plans and retirement criteria before recommending new tools
Support system consolidation planning by analyzing overlapping capabilities, mapping dependencies, identifying migration risks, and defining logical implementation phases
Design, prepare, and execute integration testing, regression testing, and user-acceptance testing protocols; investigate data discrepancies and document root-cause analysis
Provide ongoing support for business-as-usual priorities including SQL development work, feed troubleshooting, ad-hoc reporting requests, testing coordination, data reconciliation, and production issue resolution
The ideal candidate:
Advanced proficiency in SQL Server database administration and T-SQL development with demonstrated ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, and optimization techniques
Proven experience documenting data feeds, database interfaces, REST/SOAP APIs, scheduled ETL processes, or file-based integration patterns
Strong background producing detailed business requirements documents, interface specifications, source-to-target mapping documentation, report specifications, and comprehensive test scenarios
Demonstrated ability facilitating discovery workshops with business stakeholders and technical teams, converting ambiguous requirements into documented decisions and actionable next steps
Experience with operational reporting, financial reporting, management reporting, or investment reporting including data quality frameworks and reconciliation processes
Exceptional documentation skills, communication abilities, analytical problem-solving capabilities, and knowledge-transfer aptitude
Preferred: Commercial real estate, investment management, or capital markets lending domain experience
Preferred: Hands-on experience with Databricks, Azure data platform services, Power BI, or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Preferred: Background supporting corporate acquisitions, system integration projects, data migrations, or platform consolidation initiatives
Preferred: Familiarity with real estate or investment management platforms such as property management systems, deal management tools, portfolio analytics platforms, or financial planning applications
