Integration Engineer – Mid Level – Multiple Locations

OAASYS, Inc is seeking experienced Integration Engineers to serve as technical lead and mentor for the Service Area field team, providing technical guidance and oversight while remaining actively engaged in hands‑on technical work. The position supports the physical and logical integration of fiber‑optic and IP‑based circuits and coordinates technical activities associated with transitioning legacy copper and Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) systems to modern fiber and IP network infrastructure across the National Airspace System (NAS).

This position will be filled in each of the following locations: Peachtree City, GA; Dallas‑Ft. Worth, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; and Kansas City, MO.

Responsibilities

Lead Technical Integration: Lead the integration, implementation, and testing of systems supporting the National Airspace System (NAS). Provide technical directions to field teams and take ownership of assigned technical and project activities.

Lead Legacy‑to‑IP Migrations: Manage technical activities throughout the network infrastructure lifecycle, from planning and site preparation through implementation and final deployment. Direct the migration of legacy TDM circuits to IP‑based infrastructure, including circuit activation, cutover coordination, troubleshooting, and performance testing.

Provide Hands‑On Infrastructure Support: Perform hands‑on configuration, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure, protocols, servers, and related hardware. Resolve complex technical issues encountered during deployments across multiple sites and geographic areas.

Monitor and Analyze System Performance: Use operational dashboards, key performance indicators (KPIs), test results, and technical reports to evaluate network performance. Verify that fiber and IP infrastructure meets established reliability, availability, resilience, and performance requirements for mission‑critical aviation services.

Identify and Resolve Technical Risks: Analyze operational and technical data to identify trends, emerging issues, dependencies, and potential performance risks. Develop and recommend corrective actions to maintain successful implementation and operational performance.

Communicate Technical Status and Results: Develop and deliver clear, actionable status reports, dashboards, technical documentation, and briefings for project stakeholders and senior leadership. Communicate accomplishments, risks, technical issues, and recommended next steps to support timely decision‑making.

Skills Required

College degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, or related discipline (or equivalent military or field experience).

Minimum 7 years of hands‑on experience in telecommunications network engineering, circuit integration, or infrastructure planning.

Deep technical command of BGP, TCP/IP, MPLS, and IPv6, specifically telecommunications infrastructure for TDM‑to‑IP conversion.

Hands‑on experience with optical networking (fiber), telecom network infrastructure hardware, server‑level deployments, testing, validation and acceptance.

Proven ability to model network growth and optimize capacity during large‑scale system upgrades.

Telecommunications infrastructure experience with ground networks, air to ground systems and technologies.

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Skills Preferred

Experience leading the technical integration side of large infrastructure initiatives; ability to apply project management methodologies to ensure delivery, compliance, and mission alignment.

Working knowledge of cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support hybrid NAS environments.

Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.

Familiarity with FAA BNATCS protocols or similar mission‑critical government network standards.

Work is primarily performed on‑site at FAA facilities across the NAS, with additional work at contractor or integrator facilities as required.

Position requires regional travel to FAA sites in support of surveys and installation.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,000 to $175,000 per year. This range is intended to provide general compensation guidance and does not represent a promise or guarantee of a specific salary.

Individual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the duties and requirements of the position, the candidate’s education, relevant experience, geographic location, qualifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Compensation may also be affected by applicable Federal Government contract requirements, including designated labor categories and established contract wage rates.
