Job description

Vantive is a vital organ therapy company on a mission to extend lives and expand possibilities for patients and care teams everywhere. For 70 years, our team has driven meaningful innovations in kidney care. As we build on our legacy, we are deepening our commitment to elevating the dialysis experience through digital solutions and advanced services, while looking beyond kidney care and investing in transforming vital organ therapies. Greater flexibility and efficiency in therapy administration for care teams, and longer, fuller lives for patients— that is what Vantive aspires to deliver.

We believe Vantive will not only build our leadership in the kidney care space, it will also offer meaningful work to those who join us. At Vantive, you will become part of a community of people who are focused, courageous and don’t settle for the mediocre. Each of us is driven to help improve patients’ lives worldwide. Join us in advancing our mission to extend lives and expand possibilities.

Your role:

We are seeking an AWS Technical Architect with a strong integration background to design and deliver cloud solutions that connect our clinical, operational, and commercial systems. You will work within an established architecture team, contributing to solution design and hands‑on delivery while growing toward senior architectural leadership.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, enterprise integration, and healthcare technology — helping Vantive modernize how we connect systems that ultimately support patient care.

What you’ll be doing:

Design and implement AWS‑based architectures for integration workloads connecting clinical, supply chain, and enterprise systems

Develop integration patterns including API design, event‑driven messaging, and data synchronization across Vantive's application landscape

Contribute to architectural standards, design patterns, and technical documentation

Collaborate with senior architects to translate business and clinical requirements into technical solutions

Evaluate and recommend appropriate AWS services for specific use cases

Support delivery teams with technical guidance, design reviews, and troubleshooting

Participate in solution design for hybrid integration scenarios (cloud‑to‑on‑premise, SaaS‑to‑platform)

Contribute to infrastructure‑as‑code practices and CI/CD pipeline design

Ensure solutions meet healthcare regulatory and compliance requirements (HIPAA, GxP where applicable)

What you’ll bring:

Cloud Architecture

3+ years of hands‑on experience building solutions on AWS

Solid knowledge of core AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, ECS, Step Functions, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS, EventBridge

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation)

Understanding of AWS Well‑Architected Framework principles

Working knowledge of networking concepts (VPC, security groups, PrivateLink)

Experience with monitoring and observability (CloudWatch, X‑Ray)

Integration

Demonstrated experience designing and implementing integration solutions

Strong understanding of API‑first design, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous messaging patterns

Familiarity with integration patterns: event sourcing, pub/sub, saga, request‑reply

Experience integrating enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, clinical systems, or supply chain platforms)

Knowledge of data transformation, mapping, and protocol mediation

Experience with middleware, iPaaS, or integration platforms

General

Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Ability to produce clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams

Comfortable working in agile delivery teams

Awareness of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) is a plus

AI & Machine Learning

Awareness of AI/ML concepts and how they apply to enterprise workflows

Familiarity with cloud‑based AI/ML services (any provider) such as natural language processing, document extraction, or predictive analytics

Interest in or exposure to generative AI, large language models, or AI‑assisted automation

Understanding of how AI capabilities can be integrated into existing application architectures

Awareness of responsible AI principles and data governance considerations

Agentic AI

Familiarity with agentic AI patterns — autonomous agents that plan, reason, and execute multi‑step tasks with minimal human intervention

Exposure to agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar)

Understanding of tool‑use patterns where AI agents invoke APIs, query databases, or trigger workflows autonomously

Awareness of multi‑agent architectures — coordinating specialized agents for complex business processes

Interest in applying agentic AI to enterprise use cases such as intelligent document processing, automated decision support, or self‑healing integrations

Understanding of human‑in‑the‑loop patterns, guardrails, and safety mechanisms for autonomous AI systems

Awareness of memory and context management strategies for long‑running agent interactions

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)

5–8+ years total experience in software engineering or architecture roles

AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification (Professional certification is a plus)

Good communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences

Nice to Have

Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or regulated industries

Familiarity with HIPAA, GxP, or FDA software validation requirements
