Description:
MIT seeks an Interfaith Chaplain and Program Director to foster interfaith understanding, spiritual well-being, and ethical growth for the MIT community through the leadership of two key programs--the Addir Interfaith Dialogue Fellows and the Radius program in ethics.
Will administer the Addir and Radius programs and ensure that program operations run smoothly; facilitate the growth and development of student participants in the Addir Fellows and coach student leaders; and design and implement lectures, workshops, and discussion groups about important ethical issues, particularly related to scientific and technological developments. Will report directly to the chaplain to the Institute/associate dean. A full description is available at .
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (master’s preferred) in a related field
Three years of experience, preferably in higher education
Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
Understanding of and experience with young adult development
Understanding of diverse religious traditions and successful strategies for interfaith engagement
Experience in program development
Understanding of ethical issues
Experience with effective strategies for advocacy
