This is a full-time, on-site comprehensive role for an Interior Designer / Project Manager located in Chagrin Falls, OH. The candidate will be responsible for designing and managing projects from concept to completion. Day-to-day tasks will include space planning, creating construction drawings, selecting fixtures and materials, material procurement, interior design, project scheduling, and overseeing the construction process and final installation. The role requires collaborating with clients and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
nQualifications
nnExperience in Space Planning and Interior Design
nStrong skills in Architecture and Construction Drawings
nKnowledge of Fixtures and remodeling materials selection and specification
nExcellent project management and organizational skills
nStrong communication and interpersonal abilities
nAbility to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
nBachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
nExperience in residential and commercial projects is a plus
n nResponsibilities
nClient Consultation and Design Concept
nnEngage with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and project goals
nDevelop conceptual designs, including space plans, material selections, and palettes
nPresent design concepts to clients using sketches, renderings, and software presentations
n nDetailed Design and Documentation
nnCreate detailed plans and specifications including drawings
nUtilize design software (e.g. 2020 Design a CAD software) to produce precise layouts and visuals
n nMaterial Selection and Procurement
nnCollaborate with clients to finalize material selections
nSource and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors
nManage the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials within budget
n nProject Management and Scheduling
nnDevelop detailed project timelines and schedules
nCoordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and adherence to timelines
n nCollaboration and Communication
nnWork effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including clients, architects, contractors, suppliers, and other designers
nCommunicate design ideas clearly and persuasively, and build strong relationships
n nRequired Skills
nCreativity and Artistic Vision
nnA strong sense of style, and eye for and spatial arrangement, and the ability to visualize and conceptualize beautiful and functional spaces
n nTechnical Proficiency
nnAbility to draw, read, and edit blueprints
nProficiency in design software
nKnowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes
n nProject Management and Organization
nnExcellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
n nCommunication and Client Relations
nnStrong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey design ideas and build rapport with clients and stakeholders
nAbility to listen to client needs, negotiate, and resolve conflicts effectively
n nProblem Solving Skills
nnAbility to address challenges such as construction delays, unexpected issues, and changes in material availability or cost while finding effective and innovative solutions to keep the project on track and within budget
