nThe Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for an Internal Auditor .
nThe Internal Auditor is responsible for planning, conducting, and reporting internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of management systems, operational processes, and compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company procedures. This role helps identify risks, opportunities for improvement, and best practices to ensure continual improvement and organizational effectiveness.
nUpon identifying a nonconformance, the Internal Auditor is responsible for documenting the discrepancy, collecting objective evidence, including photographic documentation when applicable, and referencing the applicable quality standard or requirement.

nnCandidates must be able to read, write, and conduct business in English

nnCandidates must complete the full hiring process which includes but not limited to: Caterpillar Online Production Assessment (COPA), successful completion of Interview, background check, post offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen.

n nJob Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
nnnComplete QMS Internal Auditor Training successfully.
n
nnPlan and perform internal audits in accordance with established audit schedules and applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
n
nnAssess compliance with company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations.
n
nnIdentify nonconformities, risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
n
nnPrepare clear and objective audit reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
n
nnVerify the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
n
nnSupport management in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
n
nnMaintain audit records and ensure audit activities are properly documented.
n
nnCommunicate audit results to management and process owners in a professional and constructive manner.
n
nnParticipate in auditor training and maintain competency requirements.
n
nnPromote a culture of quality, compliance, and continual improvement throughout the organization.

n nBasic Qualifications:
nnnMust have Inventory Control and/or Quality Control experience.
n
nnBe flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands.
n
nnKnowledge of auditing principles, practices, and techniques.
n
nnUnderstanding of applicable management system standards and regulatory requirements.
n
nnStrong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
n
nnExcellent written and verbal communication abilities.
n
nnAbility to remain objective, impartial, and confidential.
n
nnStrong organizational and time-management skills.
n
nnProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and audit management tools.
n

nnnMust be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.

nnPosition available is on 1st shift (7:30am – 4:00pm)

nSummary Pay Range:
n$33.27 - $42.33
