A growing Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is seeking an Assistant Medical Director - Internal Medicine to join it's leadership team in Santa Fe

30+ providers, with a urologist joining through acquisition

Current patient panel of approximately 10,000, with anticipated growth of 2,000 additional patients
Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $285,000
Up to 15% annual performance bonus
$3,000 quarterly leadership stipend for each Pharmacist and Physician Assistant supervised
5 weeks (200 hours) of PTO
$3,000 CME allowance plus 5 paid CME days
Additional $1,000 for licensure, professional memberships, and subscriptions

Position Highlights Monday-Friday schedule
Location: Santa Fe, NM
50% clinical care / 50% administrative and leadership responsibilities
Reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer
Average clinic volume of 2.6 patients per hour
Athena EMR used across all clinic locations

In this role, you'll provide comprehensive primary care, manage patient documentation, and support high-quality patient care while helping lead clinical operations. Leadership responsibilities include overseeing 4 Physicians, 7 Nurse Practitioners, and 2 Physician Assistants , monitoring provider productivity, collaborating with the CMO on workflow optimization and operational initiatives, and coordinating provider schedules and coverage.
The organization offers Primary Care, HIV and Hepatitis C treatment, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy services. Providers participate in a shared call schedule averaging 1-4 calls per month , with nurse triage handling initial calls. Full-time provider panels typically range from 1,080-1,350 patients , adjusted based on the physician's 50% clinical commitment.
? Qualifications Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
Primary care experience with an interest in physician leadership
Eligible to obtain or maintain an active New Mexico Medical License
