This regional medical center is a well-established acute care facility serving the East Texas community with a comprehensive range of inpatient and specialty services. The facility operates at a Level 3 trauma designation and provides strong support for consulting physicians managing inpatient, ED, and transfer cases.
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
Assignment dates: October 2, 7am - October 12, 7am
Will see inpatient consults, ED consults, and transfers
Active Texas medical license required
Board certification required (Certified minimum)
ACLS certification required
Credentialing timeframe approximately 10 days
Perform upper GI endoscopy including with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), and injection of varices
ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) - Diagnostic and Therapeutic
Upper GI endoscopy with PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)
Esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation
Small bowel biopsy
Lower GI endoscopy including sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
Liver biopsy
Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
