Opportunity:
Physician - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
Locum Tenens assignment - ASAP through Ongoing with immediate need for May 18-22 coverage
Perform procedures in the Endoscopy Suite on Mondays, Wednesdays, half-day Thursdays, and Fridays
See patients in the office on Tuesdays and half-day Thursdays
Take night call every night and round on any patient consults in the hospital
20-25 patient encounters per shift
Overtime calculated after 40 hours, not on a daily basis
Active Virginia medical license required
Board certification eligible minimum; board certification not required
Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
Required procedural skills include:
Upper GI endoscopy including with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, injection of varices, and PEG placement
Esophageal dilatation/manometry
Small bowel biopsy
Lower GI endoscopy
Flexible sigmoidoscopy
Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
Vendors are responsible for obtaining and submitting all necessary pre-hire requirements including a completed background check and drug screen as part of provider onboarding
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
