Job description

Cleveland Clinic invites highly qualified Board Eligible/Board Certified Interventional Radiologists to join our expanding faculty in the Department of Radiology. We are currently recruiting two full-time Interventional Radiologists to support continued growth across our main campus and regional health system.

nPosition Summary

nThe Interventional Radiology Division at Cleveland Clinic is experiencing significant growth in both infrastructure and clinical services. Expansion plans include:

nnnTwo additional angiography suites at main campus in 2027

n

nnOne additional angiography suite at a regional site in the coming years

n

nnAn interventional MRI suite at main campus in the coming years

n

nnContinued growth in clinical programs and procedural services

n

n nCandidates must have formal fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. Interest in or experience with pediatric procedures and/or research is desirable but not required.

nPractice Environment

nCleveland Clinic is an internationally renowned academic medical center and integrated health system. The main campus includes a 1,400+ bed tertiary/quaternary care hospital, ambulatory care facilities, and a major research institute. The Interventional Radiology practice also serves six integrated community hospitals within the health system (all located within 30 minutes or less from our main campus)

nnn6 angiography labs at main campus

nnAdditional angiography labs at affiliated regional hospitals

nnActive MRA/CTA programs

nnA dedicated Interventional Radiology clinic

nnMultidisciplinary clinics for liver tumors, vascular malformations, and IVC filters

n

nnA full IR inpatient consult service at main campus and several regional hospitals

n

n nOur radiologists are supported by a highly experienced team of 15 Advanced Practice Providers, including Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and Radiologist Assistants.

nAnnual procedural volume exceeds 16,000 procedures, with a high percentage of high-end complex procedures

nClinical Scope

nThe practice includes a broad range of advanced interventional procedures, including:

nnnOrgan-specific, access-related, and transplant-related vascular interventions

n

nnBiliary interventions, including cholangioscopic procedures

n

nnTIPS creation

n

nnRecanalization of portal vein thrombosis

n

nnGastrostomy procedures

n

nnGenitourinary interventions

n

nnUterine fibroid, prostate, and musculoskeletal embolization

n

nnHepatic therapeutic embolization and infusion therapies, including high-volume Y90 and Hepzato Kit

n

nnVascular anomaly treatment

n

nnPulmonary artery thrombectomy and angioplasty

n

nnDialysis access interventions

n

nnAblation of spine, renal, hepatic, and soft-tissue tumors

n

n nThe division is actively involved in multidisciplinary care through participation in biliary, spine, pelvic pain, and tumor board conferences across the main campus and regional sites.

nThe section currently includes:

nnn2 ACGME-approved Integrated IR Residency positions per year, with a request to expand to 3

nnAt least 2 Independent IR Residency positions per year

n nFaculty are expected to contribute to resident and fellow education and mentorship.

nResearch

nThe Department of Radiology has a fully staffed and professionally managed research infrastructure that supports clinical trials and investigator-initiated research. The IR Section has multiple active clinical and basic science projects, including:

nnnA funded Interventional Radiology basic research laboratory

nnDedicated research personnel, including a PhD-level research associate

n

nnA postdoctoral fellow

n

nnInternal and external funding support

n

nnOngoing product development initiatives and patent activity

n

n nQualifications

nApplicants must meet the following qualifications:

nnnMD, DO, or equivalent medical degree

n

nnBoard Eligible or Board Certified in Interventional Radiology

n

nnCompletion of formal fellowship training in Interventional Radiology

n

nnEligibility for medical licensure in the State of Ohio

n

nnDemonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care, teamwork, and education

n

n nPreferred qualifications include:

nnnInterest in or experience with pediatric interventional procedures

n

nnInterest in clinical, translational, or basic science research

nThe salary range displayed in this job posting reflects the anticipated salary range for new physicians hired into full-time (100% FTE) positions. This range is generally aligned with or below the 50th percentile of nationally recognized compensation benchmarks by specialty. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE. This stated range excludes the value of Cleveland Clinic's comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, retirement, and other offerings.

nMinimum salary: $600,000

nMaximum salary: $711,000
