Department/Unit: Adult Cardiac Cath Lab
Work Shift: Day (United States of America)
Salary Range: $70,068.00 - $108,605.00
Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists are allied health professionals who performs diagnostic examinations at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and/or peripheral vascular study procedures. Through subjective data collection and recording, the technologist obtains information from which a correct anatomical and physiological diagnosis may be established for each patient
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process.
* Manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
* Responsible for supplies, and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure.
* Anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist.
* Constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
* Able to function independently for basic procedures and with minimal supervision of a senior technologist in the scrub role during advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
* Requires emergency on-call duties.
Qualifications
* Associate's Degree - required
* Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Training Program - required
* Graduate from an accredited Allied Health Program. - required
* 1-3 years in the cardiovascular specialty. - required
* Demonstrates familiarity with and working knowledge of normal vs. abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
* Able to anticipate and prepare for the necessary treatment if adverse events occur intra procedure.
* Able to anticipate and prepare necessary equipment for emergency procedures.
* RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Upon Hire - required
* ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support Upon Hire - required
* PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire - required
* ACLS Upon Hire - required
