Job description

Retail Inventory ControlThe Retail Inventory Control position is responsible for managing, coordinating, auditing, and monitoring inventory accuracy across RTG retail stores in the Southeast Division. Reporting to the Regional Inventory Control Manager, this role reviews store policies and procedures, prepares locations for audits and physical inventories, and reports findings and recommendations to management. The position also works with the Clearance and Distribution Center Inventory Control teams and partners closely with the Corporate Inventory team.ResponsibilitiesReview inventory policies and procedures at each retail location and follow up to confirm they are being followed.Prepare store locations for audits and physical inventories by reconciling sales and inventory reports.Develop audit plans and schedule physical inventories for assigned locations.Monitor Store Browse Cycle audit activity at each location, including timely completion and review of results.Prepare and deliver scheduled summary reports of audit findings to management.Recommend inventory corrections and updates or changes to policies and procedures.Coordinate with the Clearance and Distribution Center Inventory Control teams on inventory control activities.Work closely with the Corporate Inventory team.Coordinate travel and scheduling with the Inventory Control team to maximize efficiency. Travel to store locations approximately 50% of the time and work flexible hours as needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma required; college coursework preferred. A four-year degree in a business-related field, preferably auditing or accounting, may substitute for relevant experience.Two to four years of retail or clearance-related inventory control experience.Knowledge of distribution and inventory control across multiple locations.Understanding of inventory audits and cycle counts, including reconciliation of complete audit areas.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage time effectively.Ability to prioritize and reprioritize multiple projects.Experience with Microsoft Office and working knowledge of Excel.Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time and work a flexible schedule when needed.About Rooms To GoFounded in 1991, Rooms To Go set out to change the way people shop for furniture.
