Inventory PlannerThe Inventory Planner manages the end-to-end inventory flow for mid-to-high complexity categories. The ideal candidate can look at the big picture – connecting the dots between market trends, product lifecycles, MOQ's, lead times – to build accurate forecasts. You are a natural problem solver who thrives on collaboration, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our inventory levels always align with the forward momentum of the business.Major ActivitiesDemand Planning: Own the unconstrained demand forecast, proactively improving accuracy through trend analysis and market insights.Assortment Strategy: Understand the role of each item in the assortment and customize the inventory approach (e.g., safety stock levels, lead times) accordingly.Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the inventory expert within the product category team, driving decisions on future buys and stock positioning.Lifecycle Management: Lead the E2E lifecycle strategy; design and execute sell-down plans for discontinued inventory to protect margins.Proactive Mitigation: Anticipate OOS and overstock risks before they happen by analyzing business performance trends.Other duties as assignedMinimum Type of Experience RequiredBachelor's Degree (Master's preferred in Supply Chain or Analytics).3–5 years of experience in demand planning or inventory management.Experience with advanced Planning/Forecasting tools (e.g., Blue Yonder).At The Michaels Companies Inc., our purpose is to fuel the joy of creativity and celebration.
