INVENTORY SPECIALIST
If It's on the Shelf, You Know It's in the System
1st Shift | Full-Time
ABOUT ASAHI BEER USA / OCTOPI BREWING
Founded in 2014 as a Wisconsin contract brewery, Octopi Brewing has spent over a decade brewing and packaging beer, seltzers, RTDs, and sodas for clients nationwide. In 2024, Asahi — brewers of Asahi Super Dry — acquired Octopi, making us the U.S. production home of Super Dry. Today, our 250+ person team of beverage industry pros keeps that same local, quality-first spirit alive at a state-of-the-art facility. Our Inventory team keeps raw materials, packaging, and finished goods accurately counted and tracked, so production and customer orders never miss a beat.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We're looking for an Inventory Specialist to support our Inventory Manager in keeping stock accurate across our brewery and warehouse locations. You'll run cycle counts, chase down variances, keep product rotating first-in, first-out, and work with teams across the building to make sure what's in our system matches what's on the floor.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE GREAT
A detail-driven role with real impact — accurate inventory keeps production running and finance numbers right
Variety every day — counting, investigating, reporting, and partnering with Brewing, Packaging, Quality, Logistics, and Finance
Room to improve how we work — you'll help shape SOPs and process improvements that cut waste and discrepancies
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Complete scheduled cycle counts, stock checks, and reconciliations for finished goods, raw materials, packaging, and staging stock
Enter inventory transactions, transfers, receipts, and adjustments accurately and on time in SAP and our warehouse management system
Investigate variances and stock losses, find the root cause, and recommend corrective action
Keep FIFO on track and flag slow-moving, aging, or at-risk stock before it becomes a write-off
Reconcile materials and finished goods after production runs so records match what's physically on hand
Track inventory on quality or operational hold, coordinating with Quality and Warehouse teams
Support month-end close with stock valuation checks and audit-ready documentation
Build reports on stock accuracy, cycle count completion, variances, and write-offs
Follow safe material handling practices during all counting and inventory activities
WHAT YOU BRING
Must-haves:
Practical understanding of inventory management, stock control, and warehouse operations
Knowledge of cycle counting, reconciliation, variance investigation, and FIFO
Experience with ERP, warehouse management, or inventory systems, with a strong focus on data accuracy
High attention to detail, and strong organization and time management
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-haves:
Education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or a related field
Experience with inventory in manufacturing, food and beverage, FMCG, or brewery operations
Prior warehouse, inventory, logistics, or supply chain support experience
BENEFITS & PERKS

120 hours of PTO annually, with accrual that grows the longer you're here

A free beer after shift, because you earned it
