Job description
StevenDouglas has exclusively partnered with a newly formed private equity firm on its first investment hire. The firm was founded by a highly successful investor with roughly two decades of middle-market experience and a strong track record of completed platform and add-on transactions. This is the firm's first investment hire — a rare chance to get in at the ground floor of a platform being built by someone who has done this successfully before.
You are the second investment professional at the firm. Real ownership of transactions, immediately. The founder is explicit about wanting a long-term partner in building this business — someone to mentor and hand increasing responsibility to over time.
Work directly with the founder on investment evaluation, structuring, and value creation, with responsibility expanding over time
Own diligence and transaction execution start to finish — financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and investment materials
Work closely with portfolio company management teams, and senior advisors to manage current investments, including analyzing potential add-on investments, refinancing opportunities, and exit strategies.
Develop investment memorandums and presentation materials for internal investment committees and external stakeholders.
2+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or similar analytical role
~ Strong financial modeling, financial statement analysis, and presentation skills
~ Meaningful M&A and equity transaction experience, and genuine comfort with LBO modeling
