Experience in an academic medical center, health system, or clinical research environment preferred.
Peer-reviewed scientific publication and grant proposal writing track record required.

Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Columbus, OH region.

Essential Functions
Designs experiments, develops protocols, and conducts independent research. Develops project aims, objectives, and experimental techniques.
Supervises and mentors junior research staff and students. Trains and supervises technical support staff in performing specific techniques essential to carrying out the research program.
Records and analyzes data generated by the research study. Develops hypotheses for further investigation from the results of the studies performed.
Independently prepares scientific and technical papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Presents findings at local and national research forums. Writes first drafts of grant proposals and manuscripts. May be CO-PI on grant applications.
Collaborates with other ongoing research efforts either at NCH or at The Ohio State University.
Prepares to submit proposals to and obtain funding from external granting agencies.

PhD or equivalent degree in relevant field of science, required.
