Responsibilities

Design, build, and directly deploy scalable enterprise cloud architectures with a specific focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), ensuring strict alignment with DoW mission objectives, IT modernization strategies, and industry best practices.

Design, configure, and secure hybrid cloud environments by directly implementing robust network connectivity (e.g., VPNs, Interconnects) and API integrations between on-premises legacy systems and GCP.

Develop and deploy physical enterprise data schemas and hybrid storage solutions to enhance mission interoperability and real-time system integration.

Engineer, configure, and maintain data pipelines (ETL/ELT), for data engineering initiatives—including ETL processes, advanced analytics, and database operations within GCP—in collaboration with cross-functional technical and analytical teams.

Develop and maintain comprehensive strategic roadmaps for resilient infrastructure across compute, storage, and networking domains, ensuring secure interoperability across DoW legacy applications and modern GCP ecosystems.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into production-ready GCP solutions. Conduct objective technical trade studies, author system design specifications, and directly configure...

...and deploy approved cloud-based architectures and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) blueprints.

Author and maintain detailed architectural documentation and visualizations using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and other architectural frameworks as required...

...translating operational requirements into actionable engineering initiatives.

Configure and enforce automated cloud governance and FinOps controls. Develop and deploy technical guardrails (e.g., resource tagging pipelines, IAM constraints, automated shutdown scripts for idle resources)...

... to actively optimize GCP utilization, restrict waste, and ensure strict technical alignment with allocated budgets.

Research and evaluate emerging GCP services and cloud technologies. Propose, code, and actively execute hands-on pilots, sandboxes, and proof-of-concepts to solve complex mission challenges and prevent technological stagnation.

Architect, prototype, and build multi-cloud solutions utilizing cloud-agnostic tools and containerization standards (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform) to actively mitigate risk and eliminate restrictive vendor lock-in.

Directly engineer cross-cloud interoperability and secure data mobility pipelines between GCP and other enterprise cloud platforms.

Establish and enforce enterprise software development policies, DevSecOps standard operating procedures (SOPs), and actively configure automated DevSecOps pipelines (CI/CD) to enforce architectural best-practices across all cloud engineering teams.

The successful candidate will fil a highly technical, dual-hatted role, splitting their time between strategic Enterprise Architecture (e.g., DoDAF/UAF documentation, strategic road mapping, etc.) and hands-on cloud engineering...

... (e.g., writing Infrastructure-as-Code, configuring GCP data pipelines, and executing technical deployments).

Translating and executing enterprise architecture policies into actionable, hands-on cloud engineering designs and configurations for innovative systems. Defining problems and identifying key issues in the development of Enterprise Architecture plans, establishing regulatory/system guidance, and directly authoring and maintaining strategic IT roadmaps, system visualizations, or architecture blueprints utilizing formal frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, UAF, TOGAF). Engineering, prototyping, and implementing technical advances, management concepts, and cloud-based system improvements in collaboration with cross-functional teams. - Conducting technical analysis and hands-on system modeling of program architectures to ensure they support strategic modernization and secure cloud deployments. B. Education: Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience.
