Job description
Food Safety And Product Quality SpecialistMaintain a high level of Food Safety and Product Quality through the cleaning and sanitation of food processing equipment and the general process area. In addition, the sanitation department is responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance, and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the building is maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner.Duties and Responsibilities:Completes cleaning and sanitation of operation areas including but not limited to; conveyors, belts, rollers, storage racks, walls, control panels, windows, cleaning utensils/equipment, ceilings, lights, pipes, rollup doors, floors, drains, trash cans, and dock areas.Upkeep of the cleaning and disinfection of common areas including but not limited to; bathrooms, office, and breakrooms.General facility maintenance as needed to breakdown equipment and restore as part of the cleaning processProcess trash removal and corrugated scrapsFills supplies as needed and aids with inventory upkeepCleaning of the dock, production, and outside of the facility as neededCleaning of machinery on the floor during PMPerforms other tasks/duties as assignedOperates sanitation equipment and machinery in accordance with instructions and in a safe mannerFollows safety policies and GMP at all timesAdheres to PPE and Hygiene policies at all timesReports all food safety and sanitation issues in a timely mannerLOTO training requiredQualifications:Minimum 2 year custodial/janitorial experience OR 1 year sanitation experience in a food manufacturing or pharmaceutical facilityHS Diploma/GEDPrevious warehouse environment cleaning experience preferredStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize multiple tasksPractical attitude and ability to learn new skillsBasic knowledge of safe handling of cleaning productsHigh performance orientated and a sense of urgency about workAbility to work independently and/or within a team environmentFlexibility to work shifts as assignedPhysical Requirements:Ability to work in a temperature control facilityAbility to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to work at heights up to 90 feetWork Environment and Physical Requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable people with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.
