About the Role

As a Java Software Architect based in our Alabama office, you will lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance software solutions using Java technologies. Your primary focus will be to architect robust applications that integrate seamlessly with various enterprise systems, ensuring maintainability and extensibility. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs. This role demands a strategic thinker who can evaluate emerging technologies and incorporate best practices to enhance system architecture. Ultimately, your expertise will drive the successful delivery of complex software projects that meet both current and future business needs.

Job Responsibilities

Design and develop high-level architecture for Java-based applications ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.

Lead the integration of applications with external systems and services using industry-standard protocols and middleware.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams on object-oriented design principles and best practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Extensive experience in Java programming and software architecture design.

Proficiency with Hibernate for object-relational mapping and database interaction.

Strong understanding of application integration techniques and middleware technologies.

Experience working in Linux operating environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.

Experience with cloud platforms and microservices architecture.

Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.

Certifications related to Java development or software architecture.

Skills

The required skills such as Java programming and Hibernate are fundamental for developing and architecting efficient backend systems and managing database interactions. Application integration expertise enables you to design solutions that communicate effectively with other enterprise systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.
