Job description
Job OverviewPerform robotic machine operations; read blueprints and perform basic inspection of finished parts. Perform GMAW welding on a diversified range of standard weldments using American Welding Society welding symbols.ResponsibilitiesIdentify and obtain welding fixtures as informed by work order/job traveler and mount them in robot cellCall up the corresponding welding program and run first piece to assure conformanceEdits programs and makes machine adjustments as necessaryResponsible to train robotic cell operators in accordance with Training Within Industry (TWI) standard work practicesPerforms minor welding functions (tie ins, non-accessible welds or secondary welding operations that are necessary outside the fixtures)Prioritizes daily work for operators and load sets parts for jobsMove jobs to next operation after final inspectionMay be required to assume the Set up and operation of robotic welding cell as production needs require or in the absences of trained staffUse computer to enter production data and print identification tag for partsCommunicate machine down-time, shortages, scrap, delays in real time to the team captainQualificationsEducation and Experience:High school or general education degree (GED) preferred.General knowledge of blueprint reading and weld symbols, work instructions, measuring tools and metal finishing tools preferred.Robotic Programing experience is a plus.Skills and Abilities:Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Complete standardized written documentation and correspondence.Professionally communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.Ability to perform basic electronic tasks using computer software and Microsoft Office.Working Conditions/Physical Demands:Environment is a modern production facility with heat and air conditioningRequired to stand up to 100% of the timeRequired to reach at or above shoulder level, occasionallyRequired to climb and/or stand on an elevated step or ladder to perform duties of the job, occasionallyRequired use of hands and fingers to manipulate tools and productUse of hand tools, both electrical and manual, including hand grinders, air tools, and other fabrication tools.Ability to maneuver, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, use extended reaching, and twist while performing select duties of the jobAbility to lift up to 30 pounds, regularlyAbility to lift 30 to 50 pounds, intermittentlyAbility to lift 50 to 70 pounds, with assistance, occasionallyAbility to operate equipment up to 15 feet in the air to retrieve product or tools
