Steel Cutter / Fabrication CutterPay: $18.00 - $19.00/hourSchedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMLocation: Northeast San AntonioJob Type: Full-TimeJoin a Growing Steel Fabrication TeamOur client is seeking a dependable Steel Cutter / Fabrication Cutter to support fabrication operations by accurately measuring, marking, cutting, and preparing steel materials for production. This position plays a critical role in ensuring steel components are prepared according to shop drawings, customer specifications, and production schedules.This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in steel fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or industrial environments who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in quality craftsmanship.Pay & Schedule$18-$19 per hourMonday-Friday7:00 AM - 4:00 PMFull-time opportunityStable work environmentOpportunity to grow within a fabrication operationKey ResponsibilitiesMeasure, mark, and cut steel pipe, tubing, plate, and structural steel according to blueprints, work orders, and customer specifications.Read and interpret fabrication drawings, measurements, and production specifications to ensure accurate material preparation.Operate metal cutting equipment, including band saws, cold saws, chop saws, plasma cutters, and oxy-fuel cutting torches.Verify dimensions, maintain tight tolerances, and ensure quality standards throughout the cutting process.Load, unload, move, and organize steel materials while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPrevious experience in a steel fabrication, manufacturing, welding, or industrial environmentAbility to read a tape measure and use measuring tools accuratelyBasic understanding of fabrication drawings and material specificationsAbility to safely operate metal cutting equipmentAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods throughout the workdayPreferred QualificationsExperience cutting structural steel and pipeForklift experienceOverhead crane experienceFamiliarity with grooving, threading, and pipe fabrication processesKnowledge of fabrication shop workflow and steel material handlingKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong attention to detail and accuracyMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilityAbility to perform basic math calculations and measurementsStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environmentCommitment to safety and quality workmanshipPhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reachingRegular lifting, carrying, and moving of steel materialsAbility to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, sparks, and varying temperaturesAbility to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, steel-toe boots, and welding/cutting protective gearWork EnvironmentIndoor steel fabrication shopFast-paced production environmentWork closely with welders, fabricators, machine operators, and production supervisorsSupport custom steel and pipe fabrication projects that serve a variety of customer needsApply TodayIf you have experience as a Steel Cutter, Saw Operator, Fabrication Cutter, Metal Cutter, Structural Steel Fabricator, Production Worker, Manufacturing Associate, or Fabrication Shop Technician, we'd love to hear from you.
