Job description

Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon | Microvascular Oncologic Reconstruction | Lee Health Cancer Institute, Fort Myers, Florida

Join Southwest Florida's Advanced Microvascular Reconstruction Program

Join Lee Health Cancer Institute as a reconstructive plastic surgeon and practice within Southwest Florida's only microvascular program. This opportunity offers complex cases, deep referral networks, and meaningful program contributions within a distinctive microsurgical practice focused on regional cancer care.

Opportunity at a glance: Southwest Florida's only advanced microvascular program, based in a 100,000-square-foot cancer center and supported by three experienced surgeons, 6,900 analytic annual cancer cases, and a 1,200+ provider network spanning 92 locations.

What Sets This Opportunity Apart

Clinical scope : Perform high-impact reconstructive and free-tissue transfer procedures for complex oncologic reconstruction in collaboration with breast, head and neck, and oncology teams.

Referral strength: A broad referral base, including community physicians and Lee Health's regional network, supports steady complex-case volume and program growth.

Program contribution: Work in a collaborative cancer care environment to expand access to advanced microsurgical reconstruction for patients throughout Southwest Florida.

Candidate Profile

Candidates should have completed an ACGME-accredited plastic surgery residency and a microvascular reconstruction fellowship, with demonstrated expertise in free-tissue transfer. Board certification or eligibility in plastic surgery is required.

The ideal candidate brings advanced microsurgical skills, sound clinical judgment, collaborative instincts, and an interest in helping to grow a high-impact regional reconstruction program.

Experience in multidisciplinary cancer care, particularly collaboration with breast, head and neck, and oncology teams, will be highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

Lee Health offers a competitive compensation package designed to support a smooth transition and long-term practice growth, including uncapped incentives, sign-on and relocation bonuses, generous time off, comprehensive benefits, CME support, and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

The structure supports a sustainable, high-complexity practice with financial upside, clinical growth, and long-term professional development.

Why Southwest Florida

Fort Myers offers Gulf Coast living, beaches, year-round recreation, no state income tax, and convenient access to Southwest Florida International Airport.

Start a Confidential Conversation

If you are ready to explore a high-impact reconstructive role with complex cases, strong referral support, and an opportunity to make a meaningful program contribution, request a confidential conversation with the Lee Health recruitment team to discuss clinical scope, resources, compensation, and your next stage of practice growth in Southwest Florida.
