Construction Journeyman ElectricianBBEC, Inc. is an Employee-Owned company; we have been providing electrical contracting services for a wide variety of clients across Central PA for 40 years.Due to our recent rapid growth; we are looking for a Construction Journeyman Electrician to join our Employee-Owned company to help cultivate our Core Values of: TRUST, TEAM, GRIT, GROWTH. We offer an extensive benefits package which includes a generous bonus program.Benefits: Weekly pay, PTO, ESOP, 401K, Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, Life Insurance, Short & Long Term Disability, Health Savings Account.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The Construction Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for performing tasks of an electrician, installing the work and handling the bulk of materials. This employee should keep all materials, tools, and equipment in an orderly fashion and always keep the work area clean. Demonstrating safe work habits and proper care of tools and equipment is essential.Promote and embody our culture through our Core Values of: TRUST, TEAM, GRIT, GROWTHRepresent BBEC in a professional, cordial manner at all times to ensure customer and employee satisfactionAble to utilize all wiring methods associated with construction electrical work.Ensure electrical installations conform to NEC and trade standards.Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.Connect power cables to equipment such as electrical range or motor, and install grounding leads.Observe functioning of installed equipment or systems and detect hazards or needs for adjustment, relocation, or replacement.Repair faulty equipment or systems.Lead a team on projects as needed.Troubleshoot and diagnose equipmentInstall and upgrade electrical components and electronic circuitryWork from blueprints, schematics, sketches or verbal instructionsProperly connect and use all the varieties of electrical and testing and alignmentAssist with other tradesMaterial handling and organizingWire pullsMounting and strappingKeeps work area cleanUnderstand & follow safety requirementsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, the Journeyman Electrician must be able to perform each essential duty successfully. The requirements listed below are indicative of knowledge, skills and abilities required.Positively identify colors of wiresBend conduit by hand with hand bendersMust use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punchesCapable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipmentPractices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in the Safety PolicyRead and interpret maps, instruction manuals, specifications, work site directions, blue prints and written instructions.Give and take verbal instructionsOperate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electrical or gas powered)Work from all sizes and types of laddersJob requires employee to have required personal tools with them at all timesAble to work eight (8) hour days, forty (40) hour weeks and overtime as required plus night shift if applicableEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent, completion of G.E.DValid driver's license with own transportation to job sitesCompletion of apprenticeship program or journeyman license preferredFive or more years' experience as a commercial electrician.Must take a criminal background checkEnglish language skill requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, push, pull, reach overhead and repetitive use of arms, hands, and figures. Perform work at various heights on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other safe work areas. This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. Employees must possess good vision whether it be normal or corrected.WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the Employee-Owner must have the Ability to work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain or snow. The employee may be required to work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
