Journeyman ElectricianLighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to lead a small field crew performing highway and roadway lighting repairs, electrical service work, underground wiring repairs, troubleshooting, and lighting system maintenance.This is a hands-on leadership role. Most of the work will involve repairing and maintaining roadway lighting systems, electrical services, underground feeds, lighting circuits, poles, fixtures, and related infrastructure. The right person can work independently, lead a one- to two-person crew, stay organized in the field, and make sure the work is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.What You'll DoLead day-to-day field operations for roadway lighting repair and maintenance workSupervise and train a one- to two-person crewTroubleshoot and repair highway and roadway lighting systemsWork on electrical services, underground wiring, lighting circuits, and control systemsTroubleshoot 3-phase lighting circuitsLocate underground electrical faultsSet light poles and repair pole-mounted lighting equipmentInstall, repair, and maintain lighting fixtures, wiring, conduit, and related componentsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, maps, manuals, specifications, and work ordersUse testing equipment, hand tools, power tools, and two-handed tools safely and effectivelyOperate or work from bucket trucks, lifts, trenchers, backhoes, lift trucks, and related equipment when neededMaintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and job statusFollow NEC standards, work zone safety requirements, and all company safety proceduresCoordinate with managers, inspectors, customers, and other field personnel as neededPosition RequirementsCurrent clean driver's licenseJourneyman Electrical License requiredHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent trainingMinimum 5 years of electrical experienceRoadway lighting experience preferredAbility to work independently and take ownership of field assignmentsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsPreferred Certifications & ExperienceBucket truck experience preferred — will train if neededOSHA 10 preferredIntermediate Work Zone certification preferred — will trainCDL Class A or B preferred — will trainMOT / TTCM certification preferred — will trainExperience with commercial, industrial, roadway, or outdoor lighting systemsExperience with underground electrical troubleshooting and repairsSkills NeededAbility to identify conductor colorsStrong troubleshooting skills for lighting and electrical systemsAbility to read blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, maps, and written instructionsCompetent with power tools, hand tools, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers, and testing equipmentAbility to safely dig trenches using hand tools or power equipmentKnowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage electrical safety practicesAbility to operate company trucks with automatic transmissionsAbility to work safely around traffic, roadways, construction sites, and energized equipmentKnowledge of NEC standards and safe work proceduresWorking ConditionsWork is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and windStandard schedule is 8 hours per day, 40 hours per weekOvertime may be requiredOccasional night work may be requiredMust be comfortable working along highways, roadways, and active work zonesPhysical RequirementsAbility to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overheadAbility to lift up to 51 poundsAbility to climb ladders and work from aerial lifts or bucket trucksAbility to perform overhead work for full-day assignmentsGood vision, normal or corrected
